Christmas time store do about half their yearly sales. So, they should have 11 months stock on hand to make it. Stores can look at their records for day of the week sales and total up missed days to know what to order for Christmas. If they order early enough, and the time is coming soon, they’re guaranteed stock despite backordered items and delivery delays.
There should be stock leftover after the holidays for regular business, too. Any overordering should be absorbable in first of the years required but in stock.
